Handling Precaution
In using galvanized steel sheets, the following precautions should be taken to ensure optimum results :
STORAGE
- 1. When receiving products, check for moisture in the packing. Dry immediately if wet.
- 2. Use adequate care to prevent moisture in spaces between sheets, coiled strip, and work pieces.
- 3. Storage areas should be as dry as possible. Storage in damp conditions and/or with broken packaging can result in discoloration or rusting.
- 4. Repair broken packaging if transportation or storage conditions are improper.
HANDLING
- 1. Steel sheet products have sharp edges. Handle carefully using gloves to avoid injury.
- 2. Scratches and oil stain due to improper handling can result in paint defects.
- 3. TZ-VN has low friction coefficient. Coil may collapse. (Telescope, etc.) due to repeated uncoiling and recoiling. Cut sheet in piles may slide due to impact. Use to care in handling and work around storage areas.
WELDING
- 1. For high-temperature brazing, nickel brass-based brazing material is recommended.
FORMING PROCESS
- 1. Some kinds of lubricants used in forming processes can corrode zinc. Testing before use is recommended.
- 2. Applying severe press forming may cause the coating film damaged, Testing before use is recommend.
DEGREASING
- 1. Insufficient degreasing may cause paint defects.
- 2. Degreasing by spraying or dipping in a neutral or low alkaline agent is recommended. Strong alkaline agents may damage the coated resin film.
- 3. Adequate rinsing after degreasing is recommended. If degreasing is inadequate, water repulsion can be observed on the strip after dipping in clean water. Use a degreasing method which maintains smooth and uniform water film.
PAINTING
- 1. Dirt or other foreign matter on the surface will cause paint defects. Degrease or Clean adequately before painting.
- 2. TCS products are chemical treated to improve paint adhesion. However prior testing is recommended.Undercoating with a wash primer will help ensure good result.
